Black Equity Coalition Impact Overview
The Black Equity Coalition (BEC) needed a high-impact visual tool to communicate their complex, multi-faceted work and impact in Pennsylvania.
Objective: Distill complex organizational data into a visually compelling single-page report that communicates the BEC’s mission to strengthen equitable systems and advance justice in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
Strategy: Bridge the gap between "mission" and "metric," I developed a layout that prioritizes a top-down information hierarchy: Identity, Narrative, and Impact.
The Identity: Leading with the "Rooted in Community" mantra to establish immediate trust and local relevance.
The Narrative: Breaking down the "Focus, Approach, and Vision" into digestible blocks to explain how the coalition operates before showing the results.
The Impact: Using high-contrast "Impact Cards" to highlight the $9.5M raised and 4,500+ vaccinations, providing concrete proof of their effectiveness.
Data Visualization: Employed a vibrant color palette (pink, green, and orange) to categorize different impact sectors, making the data feel energetic rather than clinical.
Authentic Imagery: Integrated candid photography of community interactions to humanize the statistics and reflect the "wraparound services" mentioned in their approach.
Action-Oriented Footer: Included a clear call-to-action (CTA) with direct contact points to convert readers into partners or donors.
Social Media Campaign
Challenge: Create an engaging awareness campaign as part of the social media strategy to support their impact report. Breaking the report into its three essential parts: Mission, Impact, and Vision.
DEFINING EQUITY
The first carousel is an introduction to the organization and focused on defining their mission and how they approach achieving results.

DEFINING VISION
Every organization needs a vision that defines the highest aspiration their mission can achieve.
The use of archival images is the best representation of their vision in action: working to improve health outcomes, developing neighborhood partnerships, and events highlighting the energy of Pittsburgh’s Black community.
